Press Release: for Immediate Release
Sunday and Monday, October 5 and 6, at 6pm, area residents are invited to the Ashe County High School Auditorium to get vital information on one of the age-old questions of life.
The answer to "Where do we come from" has vast impact on everything else. "Why am I here", and "What should I do with my life" are answered much differently if we believe that a personal God, not random chance are responsible.
The High Country Creation Weekend is being sponsored by a multi-denominational group of cooperating area churches in Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Alleghany counties. The High Country Creation Weekend is designed to equip you with a better understanding of the issues of Creation versus Evolution.
Mark your calendars for the start of the second week in October, and Meet James Gardner, lecturer for groups such as Answers in Genesis and Institute for Creation Research. His sessions will include topics such as Dinosaurs & Dragons-Fact or Myth? and the Mystery of Ancient Man, along with question and answer sessions.
Local talent will be featured for special music, including the Ashe Associational Choir and "Generation eXcellent", a singing group composed of homeschool students.
For current information about the event, check the official site: http://asheconnect.com/creation.
Speaker: James Gardner is a lecturer and adjunct speaker for the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) and Answers in Genesis (AiG) as well as a former business executive. At age 33, he started an electronics business, retired at the age of 43, and entered full-time ministry. Jim's extensive world travels to foreign mission fields include Europe, Asia, Australia, the Pacific, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Eight trips for field work to the Grand Canyon, (two with ICR) in the last 10 years have provided outstanding training on the subject of the Grand Canyon and Noah's flood. Additional field trips to Yellowstone, the Grand Circle and Glacier National Park provided first hand experience of the geology and archeology.
Jim has taught on the subject of Creation vs. Evolution in the U.S. and internationally, in churches, schools and colleges since 1993. He is the founder and CEO of Canopy Ministries.

Are we still nibbling on the apple today?
Most of us grew up believing what we were told by our authority figures. At first, it was Mom, Dad and the preacher. Then, we were sent off to public school, and we started getting a somewhat different message.
"Hath God really said...?"
After years of doubt and downright contradiction of the Biblical account, is it any wonder that over 90% of the next generation have, at best lost their view of the Bible as accurate and inspired, and now regard it as quaint poetry?
The drumbeat of Mainstream Science has drowned out the voices of those who are trying to say that the Bible can be believed, relegating them to the fringes with the "flat earthers" and conspiracy theorists.
The message that you have the chance to hear the week of October 5 and 6 is that you have a choice. You don't have to switch off your brain to believe Genesis; as a matter of fact, there are some basic facts about the Universe that the theory of Evolution does not explain very well. That there are gaps and holes in the Emperor's robe of "science falsely so called" that the entrenched powers that be don't want you to hear.
Christ Himself treated the Old Testament account as factual, not noble allegory. Most of the doctrines the Church believes in have their roots in the book of Genesis. Those who would cut you off from these roots rob you of your strength to withstand the wiles of the devil.
The High Country Creation Weekend is not just something for those "other" folks, it's worth blocking out on the calendar and attending yourself.
IF THE FOUNDATIONS BE DESTROYED, WHAT CAN THE RIGHTEOUS DO?

We need your prayers!
We're having three prayer meetings before the event: one in July in Ashe County, one in August in Watauga County, and one in September in Alleghany County.
We need churches to sign up for one day to pray and fast at least for the week before.
On October 3rd, we'd like a student to lead flag pole prayer.
Proceedure: 7 weeks before, once a week, prayer walk around Ashe High School. On the last week, do it every day.
Linkage: Contact Mike Carter to get on board!
